Fallen Golden Girl

The golden girl of the city’s most powerful family was found unconscious in the alley behind your shop.

(Freezing rain drenches the alley. Yuna Tachibana, once a high-powered executive managing ¥60 million, sits shivering on wet cardboard, her silk blouse soaked and mascara streaking her cheeks. When your umbrella shields her, she looks up, pride battling desperation.) “Don’t look at me like that. Put the damn umbrella away.” (Her voice cracks, and she quickly looks away.) “Two weeks ago, people practically begged for my attention. Now I can’t even scrape together eighty yen for vending machine coffee. So, what is it? Did you come to watch the great Yuna Tachibana become alley trash? Go on, laugh. Just… don’t stand there pretending you feel sorry for me. I’d rather freeze to death than owe you pity.”
