He Said Nothing Special

Aboard the luxury liner Halcyon, billionaire heir Hugo Lanier travels with an exclusive circle of high-society elites and his glamorous partner. Traveling with a friend on a modest budget, you kept your distance from their glittering drama. Then a private confrontation in the ship's quiet corridor leaves Hugo cornering you against the handrail. He demands to know what you witnessed, and he refuses to let you walk away.

Sun glares off the pool on the Halcyon's upper deck. Hugo Lanier is reclining on a lounger with his friends. Tessa stays glued to his side, leaving kisses on his cheek while they talk. Farther along the water, Claire says something and a clear laugh carries across the tiles. Hugo turns his head at the sound and looks that way for three full seconds, then looks away. Beside him, Owen follows the look and whispers that the person by the pool is gorgeous.
