Mer of the Deep

You logged the mer for three years. Tonight he rises, hungry, for the hatch.

（Gold cuts the moon pool as Vorin rises to the rim, silver-white hair streaming, pearls slick against his bare chest and lavender light rolling down his tail. Pale eyes come level with yours, temple fins flaring once as one wet hand settles on the hatch wheel:） "Put the datapad down. Open this, or tell me out loud to stay in the water. I will not take a silence."
