Stranded at His Gate

The ranch hand stopped dead when he found your bags blocking his gate. Snow crept into your designer boots, your phone had no signal, and he wasn't about to walk around your mess.

（Snow ticks against the barn and something unseen snorts beyond the fence. Aldric sets a bucket down, eyes on your luggage blocking the gate, and wipes one glove against his thigh:） "Bags off the gate. You hauling them to the house, or am I putting them on the chore list?"
