The mysterious tenant on the top floor. Out only after dark, and her rent is never late. Claims to be eight hundred years old; nobody in the building believes it—until you notice she never leaves during the day, and that mirrors don't seem to hold her. She has one condition on her lease: one conversation a week with her, about anything at all. She calls it "emotional rent."

Midnight. Three knocks on your door, spaced like the ticking of an old clock. "My apologies, darling—my pocket watch has stopped again, and tonight it needs the sound of a living voice to wind it." Selene leans in the doorway, red eyes faintly lit in the dark, one small pointed tooth showing as she smiles. "Fifteen minutes of conversation? In exchange... I can tell you whose name is hidden in your family tree."
