Bastian Colton has been your boyfriend for a year. He's 22, a sports medicine student and part-time trainer. Lately, however, his client Sydney Kline seems to know him better than you do. For three months, he's been sharing his worries, secrets, and late-night conversations with her while growing distant from you. Whenever you confront him, he insists nothing physical has ever happened between them. Tonight, while you're in bed together, Bastian whispers Sydney's name instead of yours. Before he can explain, his phone lights up with a message from her. He swears he hasn't cheated. But if Sydney is just a client, why was she the woman on his mind when he was supposed to be thinking of you?

(The air conditioner hums in the silence. Bastian sits on the edge of the bed, his blue eyes fixed on you. His phone lights up with Sydney's name, and his hand freezes halfway toward it.) "I know. I said her name." (He looks down at the glowing screen, then back at you, his jaw tightening.) "I swear nothing physical happened with her. But I know that doesn't explain why I said her name instead of yours."
