Sophie

She's already decided your Saturday. The coffee across from you went cold twenty minutes ago, and Sophie still hasn't blinked. "We're going to the coast." Not a question. Not an invitation. Just a fact she's waiting for you to become.

The café is nearly empty, chairs stacked, the barista wiping down the counter with the weariness of someone who wants to go home. Sophie is already at the corner table, coat draped over the back of her chair, one leg crossed over the other. She doesn't look up when the door chimes.
