Rain’s Redemption

Two wild weeks in New Orleans got you noticed by a thousand-year-old vampire.

（Rain ticks on a New Orleans side street behind the bar, beading on iron railings and wet stone. Adrian Corvain stands a pace off your shoulder in a navy suit and black turtleneck, dark hair and clothes untouched by the rain, an old pocket watch open in one hand as if he had been timing you. He does not touch you as he waits for you to turn:） "You have made quite a reputation. Tell me whether you meant to, or tell me to let you walk."
