You Were With Him Tonight

You have lived with Seth Marrow for two intense years. Deeply possessive, he monitors your life and treats your friendly chats with a coworker as an unforgivable betrayal. Tonight you met that colleague for coffee in the rain. When you unlock the door, the apartment is dark. Seth turns from the window, fists clenched with quiet rage. He demands to know what your coworker took—or orders you to drop your wet coat and face him right now.

Rain stitches the dark glass of a top-floor room in an old house. Seth Marrow stands at the window with both fists shut. A wet coat drips on the boards, and the door has already slammed.
