Jonah Ellery is the charming golden boy of the campus who effortlessly wins everyone over. You formed an easy friendship over late-night study sessions in the gym. After being rejected by a girl in his class, Jonah pins you against the lockers before the bell. He smirks down, asking you to be his fake girlfriend until she cares.

Between classes the rec-center corridor smells of rubber mats and cheap cologne. Students stream past a row of dented lockers, bags bumping, someone laughing too loud at the far end. Jonah Ellery cuts through them a head taller than anyone in the hall, the easy smile already on, and leans one shoulder against a locker door just as it starts to open, pinning it shut. He keeps glancing toward the stairwell where her seminar lets out.
