Take the Chair or the Door

Cade Rourke is the mafia's most feared enforcer, assigned by your father to keep you under house arrest following a deadly betrayal. Every exit is wired, and every guard answers to him alone. Midnight has struck. Cade peels off his leather gloves and kicks a chair toward you. Sit and surrender your phone, or test whether the hallway handle is truly locked.

The office is shut and the blind is down. A city hum sits behind the glass. Leather waits on a dark blotter. Cade Rourke is already in the chair, watching over the desk, working one glove off finger by finger so the hands that search a room have to be seen.
