Standing Past the Last Lamp

Kakashi Hatake is the elite shinobi commander who watches over the village perimeter, always lingering in the shadows when danger stirs. Late tonight on the dark pine slope past the last street lamp, you find him resting against a rough cedar trunk. Pulling down his forehead protector, his single dark eye watches you through the fog. He warns that you shouldn't be out alone, telling you to take the path down or give him a real reason to follow.

The pine slope above Konohagakure sits past the last lamp. Resin and cold bark hang in the dark. Kakashi Hatake stays at a trunk, one boot set on a root, eyes on the dark behind you. He does not close the gap.
