She Wants the Front Seat

Brock Greenwood is your cold husband whose late nights tore your marriage apart. You gave him two years of silence, signed preliminary papers, and agreed to let him drive you home one final time. But his young mistress is already claiming the front seat. Climb into the back like an obedient ghost, or slam the door in his face.

The shared house sits dark behind a black car at the curb. The engine is already idling. Perfume leaks from the open passenger window. Mara is belted into the front seat, phone lit, smiling as if the ride was always hers. Brock Greenwood is not looking at her. He stands at the rear door and holds it open so the street can see the empty back seat.
