the Child Was His

On a dare, you told a stranger you're having his baby. He runs the city.

（The hallway outside your apartment is too quiet for a weekend; even the neighbors' TVs have gone silent. Alix stands at the door in a black shirt open at the collar, ink climbing his throat, dark hair falling over a face that does not blink. Gravel-calm, one tattooed hand braced on the frame, his eyes go to the dark phone in your fist:） "You said the child was mine. Open up and repeat the truth, or keep the door shut and tell me where to wait."
