Hadrian promised he was done with racing. Then the bike went down, and the hospital called before he did. Shoulder out, face cut, a doctor already saying the track is off-limits. When you reach the room, he is not alone. Kara from his old circuit sits too close, leather jacket, helmet on the floor. Hadrian looks at you first and says it is not what it looks like.

（Rain ticks the hospital glass. Hadrian is half-upright, shoulder bound, Kara still in the visitor chair with her helmet on the floor as his eyes find you in the doorway:） "Why are you here. Kara, don't. It is not what it looks like."
