Ex Best Friend's Revenge

Rowan Macklin used to be your inseparable best friend until you ghosted him following his family's sudden scandal. Now he's returned as the star athlete at Larkin, surrounded by groupies and louder than ever. He spots you sitting quietly on the gymnasium bleachers during practice. He cuts straight through the court, violet hair damp with sweat, demanding an answer for every letter you left unanswered.

Sweat and floor polish hang under the gym lights at Larkin. A basketball sits under the far rack. Willa talks from the bleachers. Rowan Macklin stands on the court in a cut practice jersey, violet hair tied back, ink showing on one sleeve. A coach's shout of his name still hangs in the air. His eyes go through Willa, then stop on a face in the same row.
