Tell Me What You Stayed For

Archer Kendall is the explosive frontman of the city's hottest rock band, surrounded by screaming fans every night of the tour. You lingered behind in the VIP lounge after the encore, wondering if he would notice. He emerges with amp heat still radiating off his jacket, turning a pick against his glass. He sent the waiter as a polite test, but now he is seated across from you. Name what you stayed for, or take the side door.

The private corner is darker than the stage. A drink sweats on the table. Archer Kendall turns a guitar pick against the glass, eyes still on the person the waiter named. Amp heat hangs in the curtain. The last chorus is already over.
