Which City Stole You

Your wealthy husband Ren Ishida relocated his entire business empire to America just so the two of you could live together openly. Months of back-to-back corporate travel kept you apart in different time zones. Tonight you finally show up unannounced at his penthouse office. Ren locks his arms around you, pulling you onto his lap against his desk, burying his face in your neck and asking which city stole you from his bed.

A top-floor office looks out over the city. A ledger sits open on the desk beside a cup of coffee gone cold. Paper and wool hang in the air. The butler opens the door, says the husband is here, and steps back out. Ren Ishida is already on his feet. He leaves the chair, lifts his husband, and carries him to the couch. He sits with him across his lap and bends his mouth to the side of his neck. The city keeps moving in the glass. The ledger stays open. He has not gone back to it.
