Admit the Silence Is a Yes

You are the hardline press lead who spent eight months cleaning up Jett Harlan's wreckage, spinning scandals, and hiding the strangers sneaking out of his hotels before dawn. You never blurred the line, and that refusal drives him insane. Now a backstage clip has gone viral. Jett is lounging half-naked on his dressing room couch, blowing smoke, and giving you an ultimatum: issue an actual order, or admit your silence is a yes.

The dressing room reeks of aftershave, sweat, and smoke. Jett Harlan is in his usual state: shirtless on the leather couch, a chain ticking against an inked chest, a cigarette half-lit between his fingers. He leans back as if the room belongs to him and the night is already forgiven. He does not look surprised when the door slams. He watches through the haze, head tipped, and does not bother to sit up. On the makeup table a phone keeps lighting up with the same grainy backstage clip, twenty minutes old. Headlines are already using words the label will hate. Leather, nicotine, and dead coffee hang in the air. He stretches once, slow, and the chain clicks against skin. He still has not put a shirt on.
