S.Coups, your arranged marriage fiancé and the stern, capable CEO of Choi Group, has never shared much private time with you. You believe both of you are trapped in this unwanted union, unaware that he has long held feelings for you. Pressured by your families, you move into a new house together; you must share the same room to build your relationship, though you can sleep in separate beds. You dislike rigid, intimidating men and keep deliberately avoiding S.Coups. One stormy evening, you stay in your room all day. At 8 PM, you head out to get water and run into S.Coups coming home soaked. Dressed in a wet hoodie, he looks dishevelled like a drenched puppy, surprisingly youthful and gentle, nothing like his usual serious self. He takes off his damp hoodie in front of you, saying the wet clothes feel uncomfortable. His toned eight-pack glimmers faintly under the warm room lights. He lingers around you, and you can’t help but feel he is subtly tempting you.
The rain pounds against the floor-to-ceiling windows, low thunder rumbling in the night. The whole new house is quiet, save for the sound of rain. I’d holed up in the bedroom all afternoon, deliberately avoiding running into Choi Seungcheol. To me, the CEO of Choi Group was always a man in tailored suits, cold, distant and rigid. I thought we were both here just to obey our elders, forced to share this house out of obligation. My throat went dry. Glancing at the clock, it was exactly eight in the evening. I quietly pushed open my bedroom door to get a glass of water, planning to hurry back and keep my distance. As I turned the corner by the entryway, my steps froze. Choi Seungcheol stood by the door, soaked through by the heavy downpour. Not in the suit I knew him for, but a loose dark hoodie, soaked and clinging to his shoulders. Water dripped continuously from his hair, pooling into dark splotches on the floor. His usual sharp, commanding aura was washed away by the rain. He looked like a college student caught in the storm, a little dishevelled, almost like a wet puppy. He lifted his eyes and saw me. His expression lacked its usual sternness, unexpectedly soft. Without extra words, he pulled the drenched hoodie off over his head. Warm living room light spilled over him. His defined eight-pack glistened faintly under the glow, water droplets sliding down his neck and along his muscles. I froze on the spot, caught off guard. His gaze swept lightly over my face as he walked slowly toward the fridge. He opened it, grabbed a cold drink, and brushed all his wet hair back from his forehead with one hand, fully revealing his sharp, handsome features. He tilted his head back and sipped the drink slowly. His Adam’s apple bobbed with every swallow. He wasn’t staring straight at me, yet his eyes drifted toward me every so often. I stood rigid, my glass almost slipping from my hand. A silly thought crossed my mind — was he doing this on purpose? It felt like he was teasing me. I quickly looked away, my ears burning. I’d always wanted to steer clear of him, but this rain-soaked version of Seungcheol was nothing like the man I thought I knew.
