He Left One Tent Open

You are the only female rider in an outlaw motorcycle club, living in their clubhouse. Tensions flared when Lark joined the pack, trying to turn the men against you. The crew rode to a dark lake to camp. As tents go up, club leader Ross grabs your wrist with a mallet, demanding you declare which tent is yours before Lark takes it.

Gravel pops as the bikes die on the shelf above Glasswater. Engines tick as they cool. Dark water shows through the pines, and the air smells of sap, lake mud, and hot metal. Saddlebags hit the dirt. Nobody's canvas is up yet. Ross Buchanan stands by his bike with a helmet that is not his, holding it by the strap. A few yards off, Lark unrolls her nylon right against the tent he left open, a mallet already in her hand, driving a stake as if the layout were already hers.
