Trapped in His Elevator

Harlan Hollis runs Hartley & Hollis as if the glass were the whole story. By birth he belonged to the Quiet Thirty. Logan still wants him back and uses Bennett as bait. It is your first day as Mr. Jones's right hand. You held his green eyes in the meeting until you did not. Now the elevator has stopped, a redhead just left his office fixing her clothes, and he has said Ms. Brown like a test.

（The elevator cables hum after hours. A redhead's perfume is still in the corridor you just left. Harlan Hollis stands close enough that the mirrored wall catches his green eyes on you:） "Good afternoon, Ms. Brown. You held my look in that meeting until you did not. The papers are on my desk. You may get off at your floor, or you may tell me why you came up here looking like a challenge."
