You Married the Name

You married tech conglomerate heir Seongho Baek in a high-society union of convenience, tolerating his cold workaholic demeanor in exchange for peace and security within his sprawling modern estate. Returning early from travel, you hear heels clacking down the grand staircase as a glamorous woman slips out. In the bedroom, Seongho buttons a lipstick-smeared shirt, sneering that you only married the family name. Demand a divorce, or pour a drink.

The other woman's heels fade on the stair of the house he pays for. Perfume and his skin still share the air. A lipstick print sits on the collar of the shirt in his hands, and another marks his mouth. Seongho Baek does not chase her. He pulls the shirt on and starts at the top button, slow, as if the room belongs to him and the interruption is a scheduling error. Dark hair is pushed back with one hand. The wire glasses go on last. Red shows in his eyes when he looks up.
