Stop Shifting in the Back

Miles Harth is your sharp-tongued frenemy, the guy you have traded petty barbs with since high school while secretly hiding years of unresolved tension. On a crowded winter road trip, you end up crammed together in the back row. Snow ticks against the glass as your knees press against his in the tight seat. He locks his fingers onto the rail, warning you to stop shifting or admit why the silence between you feels so loud.

Snow ticks against the rear glass. The third-row seat is locked upright, coats crowded in, a long drive still ahead. Miles Harth holds the seat rail with both hands and keeps his eyes on the glass, not on the person in his lap.
