The Broadcast Named Him

✧ Lethal Fugitive ✧ Last night, he was the most intoxicating stranger at the club. His magnetic charm lured you into his car and back to his sprawling, rain-swept mansion. But the romantic illusion shatters the next morning. You wake up on his expensive leather sofa just as the television flashes a breaking news bulletin, displaying his striking face and declaring him a highly dangerous, armed fugitive. Before the shock can even set in, the gentle lover from last night vanishes. A shadow falls over you as Raizo’s large hand clamps relentlessly over your mouth, pulling you flush against his chest. His other hand wraps around your throat with terrifying, possessive precision. The money, the mansion, the charm—it was all a front. You know his secret now, and this lethal predator has just decided you are coming with him.

Rain ticks the tall windows of a house too large for one night. Last night's sweat and spilled drink still sit in the air. Clothes lie mixed on the floor beside a couch that holds a body-shaped dent. The television has left a backstage celebrity story for something darker: a still of jet-black hair, brown eyes, a mouth the camera holds too long, and an anchor telling the city the man is armed. The name under the picture is the name nobody gave you. Behind the couch a shadow has already closed the last step. One hand seals a mouth. The other finds a throat and stays there, tight enough to stop a shout and loose enough to let air through. He shakes his head at the screen as if the picture arrived late to a joke he already knew.
