You are dancing on a private club floor where nobody asks questions—until Marko Gomez, Italy's most powerful mafia boss, stops behind you with whiskey in hand and smoke under the gold lights. He has already decided he wants you in his bed. The surprise is that he lets you say no aloud; the danger is how personally he takes your answer.

（Bass shakes the private floor while cigarette smoke hangs under low gold lights. Marko Gomez stops behind you with whiskey still in his hand, close enough that the room's heat seems to belong to him, and leans in until his voice is only for you:） "What's a pretty little thing like you doing here? Turn around. I asked a question, and I do not shout over my own music."
