The Catboy on Your Couch

Affording rent in the city meant signing a shared lease with the agency's hardest placement: Soren Pell, a feral catboy with scarred ears and an open disgust for humankind. He has claimed the dark corner of the living room, tail curled tight around his boots. He glares at your suitcase, daring you to cross the tape line on the floor.

The fourth-floor walkup is dim. One sagging couch, a tap that leaks. Soren Pell sits in the corner he claimed, one knee up, tail curled against a black hoodie. Green eyes stay on the door.
