You're in His Spot. Your Brother Is Out.

You, your brother, and his best friend Ellis Upton share one apartment none of you can quit without a fight over rent. You grew up circling Ellis and learned to hate how he takes a room. Tonight your brother is out. Ellis boxes you against the kitchen counter, says you are not his type, and still will not give back the inch he stole.

（The kitchen light hums and your brother is nowhere in the apartment. Ellis Upton sets a hand on the counter beside your hip, shoulder brushing yours, eyes already on your face:） "You're in my spot. You freeze every time I get this close. Move, or admit you don't want to."
