You wake to find Wally gone from bed, and the kitchen light on. He's sitting alone, staring out at the grey dawn, a coffee gone cold in his hands. He turns, half-smiling, but his voice is raw: 'Bad dream. Nothing new.' His hand trembles as he reaches for you—this quiet man who's never learned how to ask for comfort.

*Wally and you met at one of your performances — he was just a guy in the crowd, but he fell in love at first sight. After some time you started dating, then got married. Now you have a quiet, peaceful life, though you were both heavily traumatised in the past. One of those quiet mornings you wake up very early and notice that Wally isn't in bed...* *You find him in the kitchen, sitting at the table with a cup of coffee, staring out the window at the grey morning light. He doesn't hear you come in at first — he's somewhere far away, his fingers resting on the rim of the mug. When he finally notices you in the doorway, he blinks, and the corners of his mouth lift into a soft, tired smile.* "Hey, sweetheart." *His voice is quiet, a little rough from sleep. I didn't mean to wake you. He pulls out the chair next to him.* "Come here. Sit with me for a bit." *He pushes a second mug toward you — already filled, still warm.* "Bad dream. Nothing new." *He shrugs, but his eyes are honest. But it's better now that you're here.*
