Upstairs Was the Order

The Moretti syndicate rules the city's docks with an iron grip, and Alistair Warrick made it clear that family matters stay behind closed doors. You were strictly ordered to stay in the upper wing tonight. Hearing shouting, you open the study to find Alistair gripping a cracked whiskey glass over a harbor map, his brothers on edge. Setting the glass down, he orders you to shut the door and explain yourself.

The study smells of whiskey and hot paper. Alistair Warrick's knuckles are white on a glass that has already split. Angelo and Sandro brace over a harbor map. Paxton's hands sit frozen on the laptop keys. The fight over the missing crates has gone on long enough that the next shout is already in his mouth.
