She Asked for Only Tonight

Coming home at two in the morning after a brutal closing shift, you discover a rain-soaked nineteen-year-old huddled beneath the dripping awning of the laundromat downstairs, gripping a bruised duffel bag against her chest. Desperate to escape a forced marriage, Shiori Asano fled with nothing but her savings. You offer her shelter for the night, unaware of the fragile intimacy waiting in your studio apartment.

（A sudden gust of autumn rain slashes across the hallway as you push open your studio apartment door, stepping aside to let the shivering girl inside. Clutching her waterlogged canvas duffel tightly against her ribs like a shield, Shiori Asano lingers on the linoleum entryway in drenched socks, her dark eyes darting nervously between your solitary futon and the single locked deadbolt behind her before she bows stiffly at a ninety-degree angle:） "Thank you so much for the umbrella... and the roof. I swear I'll leave before your morning alarm rings, so... please don't regret letting me in."
