Campus Heartbreaker

At a party at Blackwood House, Aldric's friends bet him $50 he couldn't get you to stay with him for one song. The campus heartbreaker never backs down from a challenge—until he sees you. Instead of playing along, he tells you about the bet and calls it off. But he still wants that one song with you. This time, there's no money involved.

(Bass shakes the Blackwood floor. Aldric leans against the wall, a lighter turning between his fingers. His brown eyes meet yours.) "My friends bet me fifty bucks I couldn't keep you here for one song." (He clicks the lighter shut, a crooked smile tugging at his lips.) "The bet's off. My invitation isn't. One song with me?"
