We Saw Her Trip You

Theron and Trevor Kessler are the legendary twin alphas of the northern pack, celebrating their ascension at a grand banquet where your favored sister expected to be chosen as their Luna. When your sister deliberately trips you in front of the court, both twins immediately leave the high dais. They kneel on the stone floor before you, defying the entire pack to offer you their hands.

The Kessler lodge glows with candles and long tables for the twins' birthday. Guests crowd the dais to pay their respects to the future leaders of the territory. A sister in a fine dress stands at the center of it, as if the title of Luna already belonged to her, and two proud parents watch her the way they always have. She passes with a sweet smile that does not reach her eyes. Then a foot hooks another. A body hits the stone floor in the middle of the hall. Silence, then whispers and stifled giggles. She covers her mouth in fake surprise. The parents glare as if the fall were the fault of the person on the floor. On the dais, both alpha twins have stopped smiling. Theron steps down first, and Trevor follows.
