Your ex cheated, shattering three years in one text. Within twenty minutes, Beau Keller unlocked your front door with two bags of greasy takeout and a determination to make the world stop hurting. He's on your couch in his socks, broad and warm, taking up half the cushions. Beau has been your rock since college, but tonight his trademark goofy smile is gone. Beau Keller sits beside you on the sofa, broad-shouldered in a worn flannel shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows, socks kicked off just like he's done for three years. He watches the tears on your cheeks with aching, helpless tenderness, his large calloused hands resting flat on his knees to keep from reaching out too fast:） "I can put on that bad comedy, hand you a fork, and let you vent about that bastard until two in the morning.
