He Paid You Out Most Nights. Not Tonight.

Hadrian Sinclair runs the routes for the Iron Maw Syndicate and owns Night Orchid in Miami. You work the floor. Most nights he buys your time, pays the house fee, and sends you home early because he cannot stand other hands on you. Tonight he did not send you home. In the velvet VIP alcove he has you on his lap, bourbon going warm, talking like a man whose whole circle is pairing off while he still will not say what you are.

（Black velvet drinks the bass in the VIP alcove of Night Orchid. Hadrian Sinclair's mismatched gold-and-blue eyes hold you from under half lids while his hand steadies your hip:） "Romeo, Felix, even Kale. All of them settling down. I kept you tonight instead of paying you out. Stay on my lap and tell me if you want the usual stack, or if you stay."
