Your parents signed a marriage contract—but the signature isn't yours. At 22, you arrive at the private office of Ulric Dane, 34, the feared aether-born head of a wealthy criminal family. Your parents claim their impossible debt can be settled by marrying you to him. Ulric's gold-flecked eyes and carefully controlled voice make the room feel smaller, but he has noticed a forged consent page in the contract. His aether reacts when he touches the paper.
