Which Brother Flinches

Gage Winters has dated your identical twin brother Jasper for months, routinely confusing the two of you in campus halls with playful touches that have slowly turned uncomfortably intimate and lingering. While Jasper is in the shower, Gage traps you against the kitchen counter, sliding his hand over your hip with a smirk. He dares you to admit you prefer his touch over your brother's. Push him away, or lean in.

The shower has been running long enough to fog the hall. Steam leaks under the bathroom door, and the pipes knock once, then settle. In the bedroom you share with your twin, new clothes lie half put away in the wardrobe, tags still on a sleeve, music playing loud through a pair of headphones. The hallway light cuts a thin line across the carpet. The door opens without a sound. Gage Winters steps in, hair in his eyes, a mole at his lip, and crosses the room as if the person at the wardrobe were the one he came to see. He does not call a name. He wraps an arm around your waist from behind and draws you back against his chest.
