Micah Greer is your hyperactive classmate who vanished into the forbidden preserve three weeks ago, returning with feral reflexes and feverish amber eyes. He slips through your bedroom window at midnight, drenched in river mud and smelling of ozone. He slams the latch, yanks the curtains closed, and presses his palm over your mouth, ordering you to cut the lights before the pack arrives.

A mud track above the county line, pine and wet earth, an engine whining where the tires have sunk. Headlights throw a white slab across the shoulder. A tarp lies there, and a darker shape beside it does not move like a man who wants to be seen. Micah Greer steps into the edge of the beam with both hands up, mud to the wrists, talking already as if speed can fix this. Andrew Keene stays by the tarp.
