What Are We Watching

Your boyfriend Malik Reeves is a star guard with Division 1 scouts watching his every move on campus. After practice he dumped you in the gym parking lot with dinner money while he went out celebrating with the team. Near midnight he unlocks the door, drops his gym bag, and slides an arm around your waist on the couch as if nothing happened. Pick a show, or push his arm off and demand to know why you were left behind.

The apartment is dark except for the show still running on the screen. Takeout boxes sit on the low table. Malik comes in late, kicks his shoes off at the door, and disappears long enough to change into a black shirt and team sweats. When he comes back his hair is still damp from the gym. He drops onto the cushion beside you without looking at the door he came through, and hooks an arm around your waist as if the seat had been waiting.
