(Cold leather and the low hum of the television fill the living room. Bastian lounges across the couch, one arm stretched along its back. When he finally looks up at the bag in your hand, his expression hardens into a faint, unimpressed smirk.) "So you're the new addition." (He shifts just enough to make it clear he has no intention of giving up his spot.) "Let me save you the trouble. I'm not going to pretend we're family just because our parents got married. So, are you actually staying, or did you come here expecting me to roll out a welcome mat?"
