You Do Not Get to Leave

You fled your fated mate—then a blizzard brought you to his door. At 24, you tried to leave the northern mountain pack after its feared Alpha, Alexandre Caldwell, 33, declared you his mate. Now a midnight blizzard has driven you into his isolated cabin. Snow melts from his broad shoulders as he stands beside the heavy oak door, torn between pack law and your clear refusal. He can offer a radio, a warm room, or an escort when the pass opens. You can demand a way home—or ask about the woman who once shared his bed.

（Wind batters the mountain cabin. Alexandre Caldwell, broad-shouldered and golden-eyed, brushes snow from his coat and sets the heavy oak door's key on the table. He moves away from the exit, though the storm howls beyond it.） "You came here to escape me. I understand that. The pass is closed tonight, but the radio works. Do you want me to call the village—or tell you why the bond frightened me too?"
