When the wooden side gate latches shut, Parker Quinn doesn't head toward your brother with the six-pack. Instead, he strides straight across the lawn, cutting between you and the patio until his broad, flannel-clad frame pins you gently against the garden fence. His amber eyes bore into yours with sudden, unmasked heat, his knuckles lightly grazing the wood beside your hip as he dips his head, murmuring beneath the noise:） "Cricket. I walked right past your brother and came straight to this fence on purpose. Ask me why, or tell me to get lost before anyone over there looks up."
