Caught on His Livestream

Reed Callahan is your aloof roommate and a masked millionaire streamer who hides his face behind an impenetrable persona. Your agreement was simple: total privacy. Tonight his dog barges open the studio door mid-broadcast, dragging you half-dressed into the frame. Fifty thousand viewers see your face. Cut the stream, or let Reed explain who you are.

Late in the apartment, the hall is dim. Reed Callahan's studio door sits slightly open, which it never does during a stream. A seam of violet light cuts the floor. His voice comes through lower and slower than the house voice, amused, telling someone on the call to keep their eyes on him and not get shy now. Hollis, the golden retriever, comes barreling down the hall, tail going, and hits the backs of the legs by the frame. The half-open door swings inward. Someone ends up on the studio floor in the light of several monitors. Reed turns in the chair, shirtless, headphones loose at his neck, dark pants low on his hips, one hand still where the camera can see. For a second there is only the hum of the machines and the dog's happy breathing. Then he sees the doorway and the tiny red live mark on the monitor at the same time. Messages start stacking on the screen behind him.
