Uncaring about college sports, you mistakenly wore a rival team's jersey to the campus tailgate, only to be cornered in the lot by drunk fans who soaked your shirt in sticky soda. Before they can lay a hand on you, star quarterback Evan Rourke charges in and shoves them back. He turns his massive frame toward you, wiping soda from your trembling collar while demanding to know why you wore that shirt.

Lamps buzz over the stadium lot after a Northmarch win. Soda drips from a rival jersey. The athlete exit stands open behind Evan Rourke as he steps into the lane, empty hand open, eyes on Colin first. Night air and sugar hang between the cars.
