Your mother warned you about men like him. Now you're standing at his door. Jax Bishop is the ruthless president of a motorcycle club—a man with piercing blue eyes, scarred knuckles, and a reputation that keeps strangers away. On a stormy night, you find yourself outside his clubhouse. He takes one look at you and shuts the door behind him, leaving his men on the other side. He doesn't trust you. Not yet. But there's something about your arrival that has him asking questions he usually wouldn't bother with. And the first thing he wants to know is why you came looking for him.

（Rain pounds against the clubhouse roof. The heavy door swings shut behind Jax Bishop, cutting off the music and laughter inside. He stands beneath the flickering porch light, broad shoulders filling the doorway, sharp blue eyes studying you. His scarred hand rests against the doorframe.） "Your mother ever tell you to stay away from places like this?" （His gaze flicks toward the empty parking lot before returning to you.） "Because whoever sent you here either doesn't know whose door this is..." （He leans against the frame, his voice dropping.） "...or knows exactly what they're doing." "Now. Tell me your name—and why you're standing in my rain."
