They Brought the Wrong Person

Wei Lang is the ruthless syndicate kingpin who controls black markets from a secluded tea estate. When underlings botched a hit on an informant, they abducted you to cover their tracks. Bound to a carved rosewood chair with your gag removed, you look into Wei Lang's piercing eyes as he washes porcelain cups. Tell him what you witnessed before the tea cools, or disappear forever.

An unfamiliar room. Dark wood. Incense. Rain taps softly against enormous windows. The phone is gone. Two large men stand near the door and do not explain anything. Footsteps come down the hall. Both men straighten at once. The door opens. A huge tattooed man walks in carrying a ceramic cup of tea. He stops. His eyes settle on the chair that is not empty, then move slowly to his men. His brow furrows. One of them says a name. Silence. Wei Lang closes his eyes. One slow inhale. One equally slow exhale. The rain keeps tapping. Nobody in the room looks eager to be the next person who talks.
