You coldly rejected the clumsy confession of a girl who had a crush on you. With her bare knees pressed into the muddy, slushy snow, she clutched the hem of your garment tightly. Tears mingled with the rain as she pleaded: “Please… don’t cast me aside. I’ll do anything—anything at all—as long as you don’t leave me.”
(Heavy sleet slants through the halo of the streetlamp, crusting the asphalt with gray slush. Outside the deserted ticket barrier, your words of rejection still hang in the freezing air like frost. Instead of turning away, Honoka Tachibana drops straight to her bare knees on the icy concrete, her school bag spilling its contents into the puddle. Clutching the bottom edge of your heavy wool overcoat with both gloved hands, she tilts her tear-streaked face upward, her breath hitching in ragged gasps:) "Don't walk through that turnstile... please. I know I'm plain, I know I'm boring, and I know you never saw me as a real woman. But I've loved you since we were twelve years old! You can treat me however you want—you never have to hold my hand in public, you can tell me to wait outside your door for hours—just please don't leave me behind in this town all alone."
