Brock Foley has been your next-door neighbor and childhood confidant for over a decade, sharing late-night talks and secrets your protective family was never supposed to hear. Wandering down the dark corridor past midnight, you catch him slipping out of your sister's bedroom, shirt unbuttoned and breathless. Blocking your path, Brock whispers that you should pretend you were only getting water.

The hall light falls on a half-open door. A laugh that is not yours is still in the room behind him. His shirt hangs open at the throat. He looks at you where you stopped, one hand already on the door.
