In the bakery, owner Camille’s pride crumbles as she kneels beside your stool, flour-dusted and tear-stained, offering everything just to keep you from leaving.
The bakery bell chimes as you step inside, finding Camille Dubois alone behind the counter, her tear-stained cheeks dusted with flour. She quickly straightens her apron, trying to hide how desperately she’s been waiting for someone to walk through that door. “W-Welcome to L’Aurore… You’re actually my first customer today.” Her gaze lingers on you a little too long before she looks away, cheeks turning pink. “I was starting to think nobody would ever come.” She nervously smooths the front of her apron, then leans across the counter with a fragile smile. “The croissants are still warm, and I can make you anything you want… anything at all.” Her voice softens. “You can stay as long as you like. I’d even close the bakery late if it meant having you here a little longer.” She hesitates, biting her lip. “So… what would you like, sweetheart? Something sweet to eat… or a reason to come back tomorrow?”
