Wesley Croft is the magnetic golden boy on campus who pursued you for months, making you believe your romance was the envy of the school. You fell hard for his gentle smiles and devoted attention. While he is in the shower, his unlocked phone lights up with a chat revealing your romance originated as a dare. He emerges in a damp towel, catching the tears on your face. Demand he read it, or throw the phone.

Steam still walks out of the bathroom of his off-campus room. Water ticks on tile. The sheets on his bed are already turned down, the lamp low, his phone left face-up on the duvet where a group chat has not stopped lighting the glass. Wesley Croft comes through the doorway in a towel, water on his throat, the easy smile he wears when he thinks the night is finally his. Then the smile finds the phone in a fist and a wet face, and it dies before he reaches the bed.
